About our cleaning procedure and care for your carpets
Our 7-part cleaning process
Each step of our state of the art rug cleaning process removes stubborn soil and any contaminants utilizing rare machines, and unique methods. Anyone can clean rugs. Like most cleaning endeavors, however, the better the tools, the better the job.
7-steps to restoring your beautiful rugs
Step 1. Pre-Inspection
At our area rug cleaning factory, we measure the rug, including the fringe. Then, we identify the fiber type and construction of the rug. We also check for dye stability and any other pre-existing issues, such as, damage or discolorations.
Step 2. Dry Soil Removal
We use our “Rug Badger” to gently beat the back of the rug. Then, we vacuum the back of the rug with a commercial vacuum. Its heavy metal beater bar vibrates the rug. This will loosen all deep down soil and debris that normal vacuuming leave behind.
Step 3. Cleaning/Washing
We do custom cleaning, every rug has particular needs. Our methods range from a gentle surface cleaning to a full immersion on our wash floor. In the immersion wash, we work shampoo into the fibers with the soft brushes of a rotary machine
Step 4. Rinsing
With the soil suspended, we use a rinse that is safe for the rug to push away the solution and the soil. Based on the type of rug once again, this can either be rinsing with a cleaning machine or flooding with fresh water on our wash floor.
Step 5. Extraction
If your rug was surface cleaned, we extracted the moisture with a cleaning machine at the same time as its rinse. If it was immersion washed we send it for a ride in our centrifuge. This machine spins your rug while we add yet more fresh water, effectively squeezing out any remaining soil and shampoo.
Step 6. Drying
Your rug is hung in a controlled environment until dry. Some rugs, once again, based on their inspection, may be dried flat. We use moisture sensors to determine when a rug is completely dry.
Step 7. Post inspection
We lay your rug out in our drying area and groom it by hand. After a final inspection, if we need to send it back to any stage of the process again, we do that. If it passes, we roll it up and wrap it to keep it clean until delivery or pick up.
3 steps to identifying your rug
Flip over
When you are near your rug, flip the back corner of the rug over.
is there a pattern?
Can you see the same pattern on the front as the back of the rug? If it is the same pattern on the back as it is on the front, then it is woven and most likely a wool rug.
Is it tufted?
If the back is covered in fabric and not the same as the top, then it can be tufted and is most likely wool composition.
